The "Alte Sattelmühle" forester's lodge is located in the beautiful Palatinate Forest - directly on county road 23 - between Frankeneck and Esthal. We offer Palatinate and seasonal dishes, as well as Weismain beers on tap and Palatinate wine.
Beautiful hiking and mountain bike tours can be undertaken from here.
Our forester's lodge is located in the middle of the Palatinate Forest, directly on the K 23 between Frankeneck and Esthal. Until 2000, the property was used as a fire brigade training home and then stood empty for several years. In 2013, we took over the house and started with the extension and renovation. In February 2015, we opened a small restaurant in the basement. Since 1.10.2017, we have also been offering overnight accommodation with our guesthouse. Our forester's lodge is the ideal starting point for motorbike or mountain bike tours as well as hikes through the Palatinate Forest.

Samstag, Sonntag und an Feiertagen nur für Festlichkeiten oder Events geöffnet.

Getting there
von Neustadt an der Weinstraße (A65) kommend: Abfahrt Neustadt / Weinstr. Nord - dann zuerst der B38 folgen, weiter auf der B39 Richtung Kaiserslautern / Lambrecht (Pfalz). Hinter Lambrecht (Pfalz)* links abbiegen Richtung Elmsteiner Tal (L499). Der Talstraße folgen bis nach Frankeneck / Sattelmühle. Hinter Frankeneck rechts abbiegen Richtung Esthal. Der Kreisstraße ca. 1km folgen bis zum Forsthaus "Alte Sattelmühle". Das Forsthaus befindet sich auf der linken Seite.
Abfahrt Neustadt / Weinstr. Süd: der B39 folgen bis nach Lambrecht (Pfalz). Dann weiter Siehe*
Von Kaiserslautern (A6) kommend: Abfahrt Enkenbach-Alsenborn Richtung Hochspeyer / Bad Dürkheim (B48). Zuerst auf der B48 bleiben bis zur nächst größeren Abzweiung, dann weiter auf der B37 Richtung Bad Dürkheim / Neustadt a.d. Weinstr., der B37 folgen bis nach Frankenstein. In Frankenstein folgen wir der B39 bis kurz vor Lambrecht (Pfalz). Hinter Neidenfels biegen wir nach links ab Richtung Elmsteiner Tal / Frankeneck (L499). Wir folgen der Talstraße bis nach Sattelmühle. Dort biegen wir nach rechts ab auf die Kreisstraße Richtung Esthal. Wir folgen der Kreisstraße 23 ca. für 1km - das Forsthaus befindet sich auf der linken Seite.
