The Wegelnburg Castle ruins are located at an altitude of 572 metres, stretched out over a ridge. It is the highest castle complex in the Palatinate with a panoramic view of the Palatinate Forest/Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve.

The imperial fortress was built in the 12th and 13th centuries. Remains of gates, buildings, large rock chambers and circular walls are worth seeing.
