The 58-kilometer-long bike path on an old railroad line connects the volcanic nature of the Eifel with the Mediterranean flair of the Moselle region. You can glide down effortlessly and be distracted by several bike adventure loops to the Maars, to a lava bomb, to a bell foundry, to monasteries, tobacco farmers or to the charming old town of Wittlich. Again and again, the Lieser River crosses your path, and you will pass over viaducts and through tunnels.

Numerous rest areas offer you the opportunity to catch your breath and pause. Along the Maare-Mosel Cycle Route there are many wonderful hosts who, far away from any car noise, are real refuges for those seeking peace and quiet and those who enjoy regional specialties... one of the reasons why this premium route has become one of the most popular cycling routes in the region.
