Trifelsland Tour
A short but still challenging circular tour takes you past castles, through the Palatinate Forest and along the Wine Route.
You start the tour at the Museum unterm Trifels in Annweiler, first follow the Queichtal cycle path to August-Bebel-Straße and then take the road in Flotz to the cycle path to Wernersberg. Continue through the forest to the centre of Wernersberg. There you turn left and continue to Völkersweiler through the Kaiserbachtal valley with Waldrohrbach and Waldhambach in the direction of Klingenmünster, on the Southern Wine Route. Follow the wine road to Eschbach. From Eschbach, the route continues to the small winegrowing village of Leinsweiler. There the tour turns off again into the Palatinate Forest. After a crisply strenuous stretch uphill to the Slevogthof, the route then takes you comfortably through the forest back to Annweiler am Trifels. From Zollstock, a detour to Trifels Castle is possible, but the path is not marked and developed as a cycle path. In any case, it is recommended to leave the bikes at the Schloßäcker car park below the castle and explore the castle on foot.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
- Always act with foresight, kindness and consideration towards everyone you meet along the way.
- Respect nature, do not destroy plants and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
- Remember to bring a rubbish bag for the road and take rubbish home with you.
- Please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- For your own safety, observe all road closures, even at weekends.
- Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
- Please give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Safety information
Often our cycling routes run along paths that we share with others. We therefore ask for considerate and friendly cooperation at all times. Winegrowers, farmers and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests and vineyards for their daily work (also at weekends) and therefore always have priority. Due to work and/or weather conditions, these paths may also be more heavily soiled at times. Special care should also be taken when travelling along the (mostly quiet and less frequented) roads in and around the Palatinate villages.

The tour starts at the Museum unterm Trifels in Annweiler (Schipkapass) and first follows the Queichtal cycle path to the roundabout. There you cycle in the direction of Wernersberg and turn right into the forest. Continue through the forest until you reach the centre of Wernersberg. There you turn left and cycle to Völkersweiler, then continue through the Kaiserbachtal valley with Waldrohrbach and Waldhambach in the direction of Klingenmünster, on the Southern Wine Route.
