This short tour takes you around the Schorrberg, Bad Marienberg's local mountain, with bike park and ski slope.
The city in the forest - here it lives up to its name, because the Schorrberg consists almost entirely of forest, through which the M1 runs. A great thing in summer, because numerous green spaces provide shade and invite you to pause. But it's also sporty, because the Schorrberg was originally a pure ski slope, but today it has a second, fast-paced life in summer - as a downhill course with really well laid-out trails, but which don't get in the way of the hiker.

In summer, on selected dates, watch the downhill riders on their speedy descent.

Especially in autumn, be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, stones or holes in the path.
Path impairments of this kind are to be expected on every hike.

Turn-by-turn directions
First, the path leads through the Park of the Senses. Continue along Langenbacher Straße and turn left at the town exit into the high beech forest. At the cemetery, turn left again and follow the path uphill and then turn right into the forest path. Turn left at the road to Großseifen and follow the signs back into town, past the ski slope and bike park.

Public transport
Nistertal/Bad Marienberg railway station, bus no. 483 or 962 to Bad Marienberg, Neuer Weg bus stop.
The bus only runs Monday-Friday!

- From Cologne: A3 exit Hennef/Sieg via B8 and B414 to Bad Marienberg.
- From Frankfurt: A3 exit Limburg via B54 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Dortmund: A45 exit Haiger/Burbach via B54 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Giessen: A45 exit Herborn via B255 and B414 to Bad Marienberg
- From Koblenz: A48 and A3 exit Montabaur via B255 to Bad Marienberg
