Author’s recommendation
300 m off the trail lies the ruins of Waldeck Castle. A detour is worthwhile.

Turn-by-turn directions
We start at the Besembenner traffic circle in Gondershausen. From there, the trail leads us past the Petrus ore mine, over the magnificent Rabenlay viewpoint and down into the Baybach valley. On the next 9 km the Baybach, the canyon of the Hunsrück, accompanies us. Past rocks as high as church towers and rushing waterfalls, the trail passes almost imperceptibly from the Rabenlay dream loop to the Baybachklamm gorge. In between, it is worth taking a break at the Schmausemühle. At the Waldeckermühle, the Baybachklamm dream loop turns uphill, while our route continues downstream. The next 5 km are not certified, but no less beautiful: Baybach Valley halt. Among other things, we pass Waldeck Castle and the historic Rosker Bridge. And the certification will still come, because soon the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig will also run over this section. We reach the dream loop Murscher Eselsche at Perdskimbel. Via Haacks Köppsche and the rock formation Eselsche we climb up to Morshausen. On the way there are still some impressive viewpoints, the natural monument Jakob Kneip oak and in the village with Schwengelbrunnen, St. Lambertus church, bakehouse and Jakob Kneip museum still a few historical buildings to visit. The return journey is by bus from Morshausen to Gondershausen. On Saturdays and Sundays, registration is required at the TI Emmelshausen. From 1.8.19, the bus service in thism area will be significantly improved.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
