E6 - Through the Ahring Valley and Moselle Heights

From the tourist information office in Enkirch, the route leads along the "Hotel Steffensberg", then turn right over the bridge and immediately left into the street "Im alten Tal". We follow the signpost E 6. The hiking trail leads us along gardens and the Großbach stream until we reach the road (L 192) "Am Steffensberg". We now follow this road to the right. We pass the "Hotel Dampfmühle" and walk straight ahead over the bridge into the Ahringstal valley. Walk along the former monastery mill, Herrenmühle, fish ponds and Roter Mühle to the Ahringsmühle. Going downhill to the right, we cross the Ahringsbach stream and turn left. The hiking trail leads us further through the valley until we reach the former Starkenburg mill. Here we leave the valley and hike sharply right uphill to Starkenburg. The hike takes us through Starkenburg on the right. 200 m after the end of the village, we turn left from the main road and walk on the hiking trail E 6 downhill through the vineyards or over the heights (Kirst) on the Moselhöhenweg ( M ) with a magnificent view of the Moselle back to Enkirch.
