Thanks to intensive excavations, knowledge was gained that the Kaiserpfalz was a palace built according to ancient models, of which only the remains can be seen today.

19 circular route stations lead through the archaeological zone to the remains, some of which are hidden. The stations are sorted by color according to the 5 construction phases of the history of the Palatinate. There is a priority station with detailed information for each construction phase. In addition to a short information text, each panel offers an orientation map so that you can walk the circular route without any additional aids.

At the beginning of the tour, a visit to the Museum at the Imperial Palace is recommended, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Imperial Palace. There, an exhibition and an interactive computer presentation introduce the history of the Imperial Palace. The focus of the museum exhibition is the building history and a model of the imperial palace. The digital computer reconstruction conveys an even clearer picture.
