This song of the German composer and musician Reinhard Mey surely is regarded by many people as a confirmation of their sportive actions, especially when they are glider pilots. When gliders are today circling around in the heaven above Kell, the wishful thinking of doing the same probably comes over some observers and to escape from the worries of everyday life with each circle in the heaven. Actually, almost nowhere you could find better prerequisites. Concerning the thermal lift characteristics, our airfield is ideally situated. In the center of the "black-wood high-forest" it offers because of its altitude of 560 m NN best connection-possibilities to the "thermal racetrack" of the Hunsrück. Route-flights over 500 km are no rarity.
