Geysir Andernach

 All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users". 

Some information on accessibility are listed below. In the separate document "Detailed information" detailed descriptions are available.

Geyser center

• There is a public parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size 350 cm x 550 cm; distance to the Geyser Center approx. 50 m).
• The path from the car park to the Geyser Center entrance is easy to walk and drive on. The maximum longitudinal inclination is 3 % over a length of 10 m.
• The width of the entrance door is 120 cm, access to the building is threshold-free and stepless. 
• All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via an elevator. 
• The elevator cabin measures 135 cm x 140 cm.  
• All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide. 
• The sales counter with checkout area is 110 cm high. 
• The exhibits and the corresponding information can be seen predominantly from a seated position.
• Aids offered: wheelchair
• Guided tours for people with walking impairments and wheelchair users are offered on request. A reservation in advance is necessary. 

Toilet for people with disabilities in the geyser center

• The manoeuvring spaces next to the toilet on the left and right are each 90 cm x 70 cm; in front of the toilet and washbasin 150 cm x 150 cm.
•  There is a grab rail on the left/right side of the toilet. The grab rail can be flipped-up. 
•  The sink is wheelchair compatible and the mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
• There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

Ship

• The path Visitor center to the pier is to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6 % over a distance of 25 m . Access to the ship is via a ramp at the pier. The gradient depends on the water level. 
• The pier on the Namedyr Werth peninsula is 200 cm wide and 150 m long. Access to the ship is via a ramp at the pier. The gradient depends on the water level. 
• Deck 1 is accessible without steps. Deck 2 is accessible via stairs only.  
• There are no wheelchair accessible tables available in the deck 1 and 2 (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm). 

Toilet for people with disabilities on the ship

• The manoeuvring spaces next to the toilet on the left is 64 cm x 53 cm and right 40 cm x 53 cm; in front of the toilet and washbasin 103 cm x 116 cm.
• There is a grab rail on the left/right side of the toilet. The grab rail cannot be flipped-up. 
• The sink has limited access. 
• The mirror  is not visible while sitting 
• There is not an alarm trigger.

 Peninsula Namedyr Werth / Geysir 

• The path from the landing stage to the geyser is 220 m long. It is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 3% over a distance of 50 meters. 
• Seating is available at the geyser.

• There is no audio induction loop.
• In the elevator, an emergency call is confirmed audibly. Alternatively, stairs are available.
• In the exhibition, information on the exhibits is conveyed in written form and acoustically. 
• There are no guided tours available for people with hearing impairment and deaf people.

• Assistance dogs are allowed.
• Outdoor paths mainly are rich in contrast or have tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
• The main entrance is visually contrasting.
• The house signage is designed in clearly legible, visually contrasting font.
• There are glass doors in the entrance area, these are not marked with safety markings.
• Rooms and corridors are brightly lit.
• In the exhibition, the exhibits do not contrast visually with their surroundings, information is conveyed in written form and acoustically. Films are used to convey information.
• There are usually no obstacles, e.g. objects protruding into the path/room.
• Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
• In the elevator, an emergency call is confirmed acoustically.
• Staircases are not visually rich in contrast or tactilely detectable. Handrails are present. 
• There are no guided tours available for people with visual impairments and blind people.

• Name and logo of the company are clearly recognizable from the outside.
• The destination of the path is usually within sight
• The cash register is directly visible from the entrance.
• There are no uninterrupted guidance systems or signs at a constantly visible distance.
• Information is conveyed in written form and acoustically at the exhibition.
• There are no guided tours available for people with cognitive impairments.
