All areas relevant to testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility tested - partially barrier-free for people with walking disabilities".

• There are two marked parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm).
• The path from the parking spaces for people with disabilities to the museum entrance is 150 m long, partly not easy to walk and drive on, and has longitudinal gradients of up to 9 % over a length of 8 m.
• The museum is accessible without steps.
• All evaluated rooms and facilities that can be used by the guests are at ground level or accessible by elevator.
• The elevator cabin measures 110 cm x 140 cm.
• All evaluated doors and passages that can be used by the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
• The cash desk is 77 cm high at its lowest point.

Exhibition

• The exhibits are mainly visible, perceptible, and recognizable while sitting.
• Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. An advance reservation for the guided tour is necessary. 
• The entire route of the guided tour is accessible to wheelchair users without steps. 
• Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

Public toilet for people with disabilities

• The maneuvering spaces are as follows:
  • in front of the washbasin and the toilet 100 cm x 170 cm;
  • to the right of the toilet 130 cm x 55 cm.
• To the right of the toilet there is a handle which can be folded up.
• The washbasin is wheelchair accessible. The mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
• There is an alarm trigger.

• An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically and optically.

Exhibition

• Assistance dogs (guide dogs, guide dogs for the blind etc.) are allowed in all relevant areas. 
• The entrance area is neither visually contrasted to the surroundings nor recognizable by a tactilely perceptible change of floor covering.
• The glass doors at the entrance are not provided with safety markings.
• All evaluated areas that can be used by the guests are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
• The signage is designed in clearly legible and high-contrast font.
• There is no guidance system with floor indicators.
• An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically and optically. The control elements are not visually contrasted, but can be tactilely detected.
• Some stairs have visually contrasting edges and have at least one handrail on one side.
