The River Lahn is one of the most beautiful canoe rivers in Germany. Far away from any hustle and bustle and past untouched river meadows or steep rock faces, there is something new to discover around every bend of the river, and there are plenty of it in the lower part of the River Lahn between Limburg and the mouth of the Rhine in Lahnstein.

This stage leads from the winegrowing village Obernhof to the medieval Nassau. At the beginning or end of the tour you should definitely stop in Obernhof and taste the Lahn wine, a real rarity. Also impressive is the Arnstein monastery towering high above the Lahn.

Author’s recommendation

If you still have enough energy after the tour, you should definitely take a short hike to the famous Goethe Point. High above Obernhof you can enjoy a fantastic view over the Lahn valley https://www.badems-nassau.info/poi/goethepunkt
