Burg Lichtenberg (Hostel, Musikantenland Museum, Urweltmuseum) is one of the largest castle ruins in Germany, with a length of 425 metres.
The region around Kusel is also known as Musikantenland, named after the wandering musicians of the West Palatinate who earned a living like this from around 1850 until the First World War. Already in the early 19th century crop failures and the resulting lack of food forced the inhabitants of the West Palatinate to emigrate.
A culinary treat of the 20th century can be enjoyed at the goat farm in Erdesbach.
Enjoy the beauty and characteristics of this first stage - you will not regret it!
Along the way, romantically situated benches invite you to sit down and admire the views.
Refreshments are available either at the beginning at Burg Lichtenberg, or on the way via a short detour to the Felschbachhof or the Steinernen Mann in Ulmet.
A visit to the goat cheese dairy in Erdesbach is also worthwhile.
