The trail leads for the most part on unpaved forest ground. Watch out for roots, rocks and stones so that you don't lose your footing. After rainy days and especially in spring and autumn, the paths can be wet and therefore slippery.Tips and hints

Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts at the Krumbachtal hikers' car park north of Bobenheim am Berg (next to the waterworks). The trail is marked with number 4 on the display board. You start on the narrow path between the vineyard on your right and the green belt on your left. After about 100 m, the path bends to the left. You follow the 4 signposts up the slope over two elongated arches. You pass a sign with the symbol of the "Pfälzer Weinsteig" (Palatinate Wine Trail) and reach the first houses of the village before you meet the main road. Here it is worth taking a short detour to the right to the lightning tubes in the slope below the castle ruins on the road. You then head back towards the village and can turn right to reach the castle ruins. The path itself leads you further along the main road into the village. At the crossroads at the Hahn-Pahlke winery, keep left and continue straight ahead following the signs for the 4-way trail. At the end of the road, turn left into Waldstraße, go down the hill and change to the narrow forest path (Attention! Tree with signage has fallen, go straight ahead).
At the end of the path, turn left onto the main path and continue walking until you reach the sign "Wasserschutzgebiet" (water protection area). From here, follow the 5-way trail (the first sign is on a power pole on the left side of the trail). This leads you back to the starting point - the car park in Krumbachtal.

From the bus stop Bobenheim am Berg/Winzer, walk through the village towards Kleinkarlbach.
The Krumbachtal car park is approx. 300m after the end of the village on the left.
Getting there
From the north:
Motorway A6, exit Grünstadt/Dt. Weinstraße in the direction of Bad Dürkheim on the B271. Exit Kleinkarlbach/Altleiningen. In Kleinkaelbach turn left towards Bobenheim am Berg. Drive past the turn-off to Battenberg and turn left after approx. 200m into the Krumbachtal hikers' car park.
From the south:
Take the A61 motorway at the Ludwigshafen junction onto the A650 towards Bad Dürkheim. At the end of the extension, go straight on in the direction of Gewerbegebiet Trift/Grünstadt. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right towards Ungstein. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Ungstein/Grünstadt. Continue in the direction of Grünstadt via the B271 (German Wine Route) to Herxheim am Berg. At the traffic lights in Herxheim am Berg, turn left towards Weisenheim am Berg. Follow the Weisenheim am Berg bypass to the right in the direction of Bobenheim am Berg and drive through the town. Approx. 300m after leaving the town, the Krumbachtal hikers' car park is on the left.
