Short description:

Family-friendly hiking trail to the Ungeheuersee lake. A tour with few but pleasant climbs, beautiful forest passages and - not to be forgotten - the numerous "benches" to rest on along the way.

The Palatinate people call a bench a "Bänkel". This already gives the hint of the numerous resting opportunities that line the route from the edge of the forest to the Ungeheuersee. On pleasant forest paths with only moderate gradients, you can comfortably walk at your leisure to the lake, stop there at the PWV hut and also take a break at any time along the way.

Author’s recommendation

After the tour, the diverse range of restaurants in Weisenheim am Berg is open to you.

The trail runs mainly on forest soil. Watch out for roots, rocks and stones so that you don't lose your footing. After rainy days and especially in spring, autumn and winter, the paths can be wet and therefore slippery.
