The HeimatSpur circular trail "Alte Eiche" offers varied ups and downs.

The 8.8 km trail offers beautiful distant views on mostly well-surfaced forest and meadow paths.

Starting in the centre of the village, the trail quickly leads through an enchanting deciduous forest. Once you have mastered the first metres of altitude, you have a wonderful panoramic view of nature. A little further down the valley, a section of the Lieser Trail leads to the Old Oak, the tree that gave this circular trail its name. The 25 m tall giant, over 460 years old, with a trunk circumference of almost 5 m, is a natural monument. Back in the refreshingly cool deciduous forest, the path leads upwards to a wonderful panoramic view. The Struth villages of Kradenbach, Neichen, Beinhausen and Boxberg with its Lieser spring blend flawlessly into the Eifel landscape. With its varied ups and downs, the HeimatSpur circular trail Alte Eiche challenges the hiker.

The great views are what make this HeimatSpur so fascinating.

Highlights along the way:

• 3.7 km the Lieser Valley

• 5.2 km the old oak (a 25 m high and over 460 year old giant)

• 7.0 km panoramic view over the Struth
