The Kleine Acht runs as a circular trail on a section of the 21-kilometre-long Ulmener Acht. Over a total of 8 kilometres, you will experience deep forests, wide views over green valleys and babbling streams. The trail first takes you along the original Üßbach valley. You dive into the deep forests of the Volcanic Eifel until you follow the path back to Ulmen through green meadow valleys. Finally, you will walk around the Jungferweiher, a bird and nature reserve that offers impressive insights into the flora and fauna for every nature-loving hiker. The Jungferweiher is a former dry maar, which is particularly characterised by its abundance of migratory birds. It is worth taking a short detour to the Eifel town of Ulmen. There, the Ulmen Maar awaits you, the youngest maar in the Volcanic Eifel, with the Crusader Castle towering above it. To round off the hike in a relaxed atmosphere, the gastronomic offer provides the opportunity for a cosy stop.

The hike is adequately signposted according to the Ulmener Acht logo.
