The Ulmener Acht runs for a total of 21 kilometres through the varied landscape of the Volcanic Eifel. Experience deep forests and narrow paths along babbling streams or enjoy the wide views over green valleys and the bird and nature reserve at the Jungferweiher area. Visit the romantic Eifel town of Ulmen on your way. There, the Ulmen Maar awaits you, the youngest maar in the Volcanic Eifel, with the Crusader Castle towering above it. From there you have a breathtaking view of the deep blue Maar and the idyllic Eifel town. To end the hike in a relaxed atmosphere, the gastronomic offer provides the opportunity for a cozy stop. The loops of the Ulmener Acht can be hiked individually and thus offer a shorter hiking experience: the Kleine Acht with 8 kilometres and the Große Acht with almost 14 kilometres can be hiked separately. Take your time and enjoy the scenic diversity of the Volcanic Eifel.

Highlights along the way:

• 0.7 km Jungferweiher
• 14.2 km Maismühle
• 19.3 km Ulmen Castle
• 19.5 km Ulmen Maar
