The Löhley basalt boulders and the refreshing mineral water in the Lieser Valley impressively reflect the motto "water and rocks".

The volcanic past of the region can be seen along the water and rock trail. The basalt boulders of the Löhley give an idea of the forces at work in the battle between fire and water. The Lieser Valley is wildly romantic. Especially in hot months, the Lieser invites you to take a cool refreshment. The absolute highlight is the Aarley observation tower, which is located on a volcanic ridge 577 metres above sea level. The climb is well worth it, as the visitor is offered a magnificent view over the GesundLand Vulkaneifel and the Eifel village of Üdersdorf. Right next door is an old lava pit with wonderful geological outcrops.

Insider tip: If you are planning a day tour, you can use the connection to the HeimatSpur 3-Village Trail "DW" and extend your hike by another 14.8 km.

Highlights along the way:

• 2.5 km Aarley 4.8 km Lava pits

• 4.9 km Löhley

• 7.3 km Liesertal

• 7.4 km Sauerbrunnen

• 12 km Connection HeimatSpur 3-Village Trail

Forstarbeiten.
