Turn-by-turn directions

The Hiking Tour "Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg" starts on the outskirts of Zornheim. From the car park at the charming Lindenplatz with the fountain "Three Graces" and from the car park at the sports field, there are two paths that lead you to the "Ruhkreuz" on Zornheim's hill ("Zornheimer Berg"), the starting and ending point of this 6.8 km long hike. It is an entertaining and interesting route with ten information boards.

One highlight is the "Hasenberg" that offers great panoramic views of the Taunus. You can take a short break at the rest area on the "Jubiläumswald". The "Jubiläumswald" is a forest where a total of 200 trees were planted in 2016 in honor of Rheinhessen's 200th birthday, which now grow and thrive alongside the sculpture of a local artist.

The route continues through wide fields and undulating meadows, past grazing cattle herds and right through the lush orchard in Zornheim. From cherries to apples to pears to mirabelles, there is a lot to marvel at, depending on the season.

The hike then leads you down to the species-rich biotope "Rohrwiesen" and there are fruits as far as the eye can see.

It is nice to listen to the sounds of the biodiversity of the biotope until you reach the vineyards.

After getting to the Wingertshäuschen “Auf dem Winkel”, you can enjoy the wonderful views of the Taunus and even the skyline of Frankfurt am Main.

Now, the hiking trail leads to the Selzberg, where you can find a lot of vineyards and then, you pass the former emplacement in World War 1 (called"Selztalstellung"). You can gain insight into the history of the region.

The "Wingertshäuschen Am Hohberg" marks the last stage of the hiking route"Hiwweltour". The last information board informs you about the origin of the landscape and you will then reach the outskirts of Zornheim "am Ruhkreuz" again. Here you can have a break by using the lounger and enjoy the fantastic view of the hiking trail.
