Turn-by-turn directions
At the hiking car park Am Gänsborn in Siefersheim, the access path to the entrance begins at the edge of the vineyards. Partly accompanied by vineyard walls, it goes up to Höll, an important nature reserve in the region.
On the way to the Ajax Tower, a varied mix of cultivated vineyards and pristine areas provides a delightful backdrop. After the tower, when approaching Neu-Bamberg, it is the slopes of Galgenberg and Mühlberg that set special accents with their distinctive piles of stones (Rosseln).
We get up close and personal with one of these stone osses before we head down to Neu-Bamberg on an ancient Wingert trail. With its historic center and the imposing castle ruins, Neu-Bamberg is worth a detour. There is also another parking lot for hikers, which can be used as an entry point, as well as a connection to the neighboring Hiwweltour Eichelberg.
The Hiwweltour Heideblick continues uphill to a picturesque view of the Neu-Bamberg castle ruins. After a shady path descent, the tour in the Appelbachtal uses the old railway line, which we follow to the Katzensteigermühle.
The ascent to the Mühlberg is effortlessly mastered on idyllic paths and crowned at the eagle monument with a great view over the Neu-Bamberg Heath nature reserve. In the following section you are in the middle of the magnificent heathland. The icing on the cake of this tour is the Winzeralm, which not only offers a resting place with "Rheinhessen's most beautiful wine view 2016", but also serves delicious grape juice on weekends in summer.
After this climax, the path heads for the table of wine with another panoramic view before it goes past some vineyard houses, through the middle of the sea of vines, back to the starting point.

.Another note about the parking situation:
Parking in the village, especially on the access roads to the vineyard and in the vineyards themselves, is not permitted. Unfortunately, it happens again and again that paths and driveways are blocked and our winemakers can no longer pass the already narrow streets with their devices. Our hikers and guests are always welcome! In the interests of the residents, we would like to ask you to show mutual consideration and to use the designated parking space.
