"The opportunity to enjoy a great landscape in peace and quiet , while meditating and thinking about the growth and decay of nature and the insignificance of one's self". This was what the initiator of this trail had in mind so that hikers could find the way back to their senses and can satisfy their longing for mindfulness and a deceleration of their lives. But not only lovers of nature but also those of you interested in culture, history and religion will be rewarded by the landmarks of this trail. The Kapellenpilgerweg leads past churches and chapels, crossing a splendid landscape between deep forests and vineyards and offers wonderful views past castles and ruins right up to the border to France. Pastor Unkrich, one of the initiators of this trail, sees the Kapellenpilgerweg as a way to bring the body, mind and soul back into harmony with each other"Just enjoy the peace and quite on the way to finding your own very personal oasis "!

In autumn in particular, it is important to remember that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, stones and holes in the path. Trees can topple and branches can fall down after thunderstorms and rainstorms. Natural paths can become muddy and slippery, especially in poor weather conditions. Not all rocks and precipices are secured with ropes or railings. You need to be sure-footed in certain areas. Damage to paths of this kind is to be expected on hikes. If you feel that certain sections of the path are not passable for you, please avoid them.
NOTE:
We endeavour to announce all closures due to forest work or hunting parties on this platform. Nevertheless, sometimes there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a road closure or diversion, please follow the instructions for your own safety.
In Vorderweidenthal the former St. Gallus Church should be visited. From there you make a pilgrimage through Erlenbachtal towards Oberschlettenbach and discover the fire station, which used to be a church. From this place of tranquility, you continue on towards Lauterschwan alongside the Potzbach. In Lauterschwan you will find the St. Michaelskapelle. Below the castle of Bewartstein that can be seen from afar, you can each refresh yourself in the waters of the Seehofweiher. The trail then continues along the well-marked route into the Palatinate Forest and up to the 400 m high Breitenberg. At the Hirzeckhaus and past the Bobenthaler Kopf we reach the former monastery of St. Paul Weißenburg, the St. Germanshof. This trail also leads on towards the Pauliner Schloss with the view extending to the Deutsche Weintor, the southern-most starting point of the German Wine Street.
