A beautiful and new circular hike near the Moselle village of Wintrich. The highlight is the view from the "Kanzel" into the Frohnbachtal.

A circular hiking trail through the quiet forests of the Moselhunsrück.Insight into the hiking tour:From the hiking car park on the district road K 85 the trail leads mainly through chestnut and beech forests. On the way, from the "Kanzel" (signposted as a detour of about 150 metres) there is a wonderful view of the Frohnbach Valley near Burgen and Hirzlei. A further detour worth seeing is in the Wintrich district of Kasholz - the Kasholz farm. Here everything revolves around elderberries. Elderberry juice, nectar, elderberry apple juice and syrup specialities, liqueurs and brandies as well as various jams and jellies, all from our own cultivation, can be bought in the farm shop. All juices are naturally cloudy and are produced and bottled in a traditional and vitamin-conserving way (see tip author). The hiking trail is signposted in both directions. It is recommended to walk it counterclockwise. There are no refreshment stops along the way, so it is recommended to take backpack provisions with you.

In the farm shop of Hofgut Kasholz (Beringhoff family) you can buy many delicious natural products from our own cultivation.

Turn-by-turn directions

The tour starts at the car park for hikers at the district road K 85. First you walk along a path on the side of the district road, then you continue on forest paths. It goes downhill in the direction of Frohnbachtal. However, you do not descend completely, but enjoy the view from the "Kanzel" into the valley (signposted as a detour of about 150 meters). First you go down even further, then uphill again along vineyards.  Over open terrain with meadows and fields the path leads you back into the forest and back to the starting point. The path is signposted in both directions. It is recommended to walk counterclockwise.Translated with www.
