Puhlstein-Tour
From the Hexenplätzel car park, located between two clubhouses, you can reach a small hilltop in the forest on a paved farm path in 10 minutes, where two paths leave on the left. On the left forest path we continue ( direction Oberschlettenbach ), later we come back to this point via the right path. After another 10 minutes of running time through beautiful beech forest, the path branches off to the right to the Buhlstein, which we follow from now on without alternative.
While we have so far followed the path on the west side of the Buhlstein, the descent now takes place via a steep serpentine path on the east side of the mountain. After we have reached a slightly wider forest path we turn briefly to the right, then immediately left again, down a path, to a second forest path
The summit location of the Puhlstein ( sometimes also called Buhlstein ) consists of a 500 m long rock chain and is really worth seeing. One coloured sandstone rock follows the other. At its northern and southern ends there are two viewpoints. The southern view with the Puhlsteinpfeiler is completely harmless to walk from the mountain side and secured. It is the far more beautiful of the two and offers an almost magnificent view.

Safety information
Safety instructionsDespite the well-signposted trail markers along the premium hiking trails, we recommend for security reasons to always have an appropriate hiking map so that, for example when a storm occurs, you can quickly either find shelter or get out of the woods.
Especially in the autumn it is also important to remember that leaves lying on the ground can conceal irregularities, such as roots, rocks or holes in the path. Following storms, trees can have been uprooted or have branches hanging down. Such path impairments have to be expected when using such trails . Especially in adverse weather conditions, it may occur that the trails and paths turn into muddy and slippery passages. Path impairments of this kind have to be expected when you go out for a hike. Not all rocks or slopes are secured with ropes or railings and sure footedness is required. Should you be of the opinion that these are not accessible to you then you should try and get around them.
