Turn-by-turn directions
The hike starts at the GesundLand Tourist Information in Manderscheid. Follow the main road in the direction of the town centre until the roundabout, then turn left and left again in front of the Maarmuseum in the direction of Großlittgen. Opposite the entrance to the industrial estate, turn right along Birkenallee to Dombachhof. Before the Dombachhof, the path leads left first through meadows and then into the forest. At the next crossroads, follow the signs to the left to the waterfall/Germanenbrücke (Germanic bridge) on the Kleine Kyll. From here, continue to Wolfsschlucht, then follow the Vulkanweg through Wolfsschlucht, Horngraben and up to the observation tower on Mosenberg.Continue on the Vulkanweg (volcano trail) to the Windsborn crater lake. Here you can take a short detour to Hinkelsmaar. Follow the main road to Bettenfeld. In the centre of the village turn right to the church and behind the village take the footpath down to Meerfeld. In Meerfeld, follow the main road into the village and turn left into Maarweg. Walk around the Meerfeld Maar and return to the main road via the car park.Cross the main road at the small chapel, then turn left along the path in the Meerbachtal valley and later along the road towards Manderscheid. After about 50 metres, after the bridge over the Kleine Kyll, take the path to the left uphill and follow the signs to Manderscheid. In Manderscheid, follow the road An Luziakirch to the main road, then turn right and walk through the village back to the starting point of the tour.

Train (DB Bahn):Cologne-Gerolstein-Trier railway line to Gerolstein station and continue by bus.
Railway line Koblenz-Trier/Luxembourg to Wittlich main station and continue with Regioline 300.

Getting there
1. from the direction of the Netherlands, Cologne, Ruhr area:=> A1 direction Blankenheim until the end of the motorway (Tondorf)=> from there direction Hillesheim/Gerolstein=> follow the signs to Daun and Manderscheid.
2. from Belgium/Netherlands:
=> E40 direction Aachen/Trier => exit
Landscheid/Großlittgen => from there via L62 and L46 to Manderscheid
3. from direction Frankfurt / Koblenz:
=> A3 Frankfrut-Köln as far as Dernbacher Dreieck=> or A61 Ludwigshafen-Köln as far as Koblenzer Kreuz=> from there to the Manderscheid exit.
4. from direction A1 Saarbrücken / Trier:
=> from Trier take the A48 to the Manderscheid
