The Selztal circular route leads directly from the picturesque Ober-Ingelheim into the middle of nature. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. The babbling Selz, old archways and mills, meadows, fields and paddocks accompany the ground-level path. And when you reach the Eulenmühle with the "Eulenschänke" halfway through, the magnificent Westerhaus Castle towers above it - a look for evening romantics and daydreamers. In Ober-Ingelheim, the former “Engelthal” monastery still offers a nice opportunity to end the tour with a glass of wine.

Author’s recommendation

The "Landrestaurant Eulenschänke" and the former monastery "Engelthal" are special places to stop - ideal to round off an evening walk.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the Westerhausstrasse car park in Ober-Ingelheim, the circular route leads through the quiet Selztal valley. It goes through old gates, past mills and towers. The path is lined by the Westerberg and the Mainzer Berg. Halfway there, he passes the historic owl mill with the "owl tavern". A nice opportunity to stop off: From the terrace you can see the picturesque Westerhaus Castle. A small round without inclines: ideal for a relaxed evening stroll after a long day, for jogging or for families - because there is also a playground for children along the way.
