Coming from Freilingen we cross the L115 with the necessary caution. Behind it left, then right and uphill in a leisurely climb to the chicken mountain, which is already recognizable from afar on the big cross. From above, the view sweeps over a wonderful panorama. After a restful rest we hike across the wide plateau through the district Am Gericht.Bald the way but enters the forest and now leads a long stretch on the route of an old Roman road through relaxing forest landscape between Lommersdorf and Aremberg. After we have crossed the connecting road between the two places, it goes downhill for a bit, then up left, finally on a quiet path through the middle of the forest. On a well-secured forest path we reach the district Aremberg. Right at the beginning, we welcome old Stations of the Cross and the Guardian Angel Chapel. Already the view opens to the south; In front of our eye unfolds a panorama with Nürburg and Hoher Acht.

Author’s recommendation

Another natural highlight is the Hohes Venn nature park between Lommersdorf and Aremberg with fantastic far-reaching views all the way to the Nürburg.

Einfach mal selbst ausprobieren!
