Biblical Wine Trail to Kirrweiler

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility tested - barrier-free for people with walking disabilities and partially barrier-free for wheelchair users ".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. Detailed information can be found in the test report at the end of this text.

• There are two marked parking spaces for people with disabilities at the chapel of Mary (behind the cemetery) (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm; distance to the starting point approx. 30 m).
• The path between the car park and the beginning of the Biblical Wine Path is low in vibrations due to its surface characteristics and easy to walk and drive on.
• The Biblical Wine Path is accessible via the Maikammer-Kirrweiler hiking station, either on foot or by the Palatina Bus via the motorway bridge to the village center. The chapel of Mary is loctaed at walking distance from the center of the village (at the cemetery).
• The circular path is approx. 2.5 km long, at least 200 cm wide and stepless. The maximum longitudinal inclination is 6 % over a distance of 10 m.
• The surface of the path is mainly vibration-free and easy to walk and drive on (e.g. asphalt, concrete pavement).
• There are seats at a distance of at least 500 m.
• There are no sloping areas.
• There are unsecured slopes.
• The circular path is mostly car-free, but runs on a farm road that is heavily used by tractors, especially during the grape harvest.
• No crossing of a road used by motor vehicles is necessary on the circular path.
• The path is not signposted for cyclists, skaters or riders, etc.
• The path is continuously signposted.
• In total there are 12 stations along the path. The stations are visible, perceptible or recognizable while sitting. At the information board at the starting point of the path there is a box with flyers of the Biblical Wine Path, in these flyers QR codes are printed to call up the audio contributions of the individual stations. Additionally the audio contributions are available on the Rhineland-Palatinate App (further information on the Webseite of the Rhineland-Palatinate tourism GmbH ).
• At a distance of approx. 400 m from the starting point of the path there is the "Kulturscheune" with a public toilet and a further parking space for people with disabilities.

Public toilet for people with disabilities in the "Kulturscheune"

• The toilet is open from May to the end of October.
• The manoeuvring spaces are:
  • behind the door, in front of the toilet and washbasin 129 cm x 180 cm;
  • to the left and right of the toilet at least 95 cm x 71 cm.
• There are handles which can be folded up on both sides of the toilet.
• The washbasin is wheelchair compatible.
• The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
• There is an alarm trigger (cord).
