The large castle circuit runs around the castle ruins. Starting at the ruins of Nürburg Castle, the route leads down Burgstrasse until it turns right onto Lächenweg. Along the Lächenweg you will find beautiful views. On the right, hidden in a piece of forest, is the Burgweiherhütte, which invites you to take a little break. The castle pond right next to the hut is in the shade and enchants with its tranquility. From there it goes uphill again, past the former drag lift, the remains of which can still be seen, to the stone drinking trough, which the municipality has extensively restored. An information board along the hiking route "On the trail of the green hell" provides information about volcanism in the Eifel. At this point of the hike you have a wonderful view over the Eifel. Back on the Burgstraße, with a view of the Nürburgring, it goes slightly uphill back to the starting point at the Nürburg castle ruins. The route is suitable for families with prams!
