Ruwer-Riesling-Erlebnisweg
The trail is also suitable for families with children, as it runs almost exclusively on paved paths and there is a lot for children to discover along the way. The children's playground in Kasel offers a perfect place to take a break.

Turn-by-turn directions
In all variants it is possible to walk the path in both directions.
If we decide to start in Mertesdorf, we will find here the starting board with all useful information about the trail, a vineyard map and information about the nearby Grünhaus Castle. If we then follow the trail clockwise, we have our first and almost only crisp climb right in front of us. We follow the main road, then the Gartenstraße into the street "Auf Krein" and arrive at the Lorenzberg into the vineyard "Mertesdorfer Herrenberg". At the first resting place you will find information boards on the topics "Origin of the Ruwer Valley" and "Terroir - Influences between Heaven & Earth". The route continues in the direction of the "Kaseler Nies'chen" vineyard, past the rest area with information on biodiversity in the wine-growing landscape and the Hitzlay hut with interesting facts about the Ruwer Riesling.
Once you have arrived in Kasel, you can continue on the path in the direction of the sports field or decide to take the short route. In any case, it is worthwhile to continue along the path, because after a few meters you will reach a station along the Lebensturm (life tower), where you can see the different types of vineyards. Through the village we follow the signs to the vineyard "Kaseler Kehrnagel". Here the path leads in the direction of Waldrach, past the stations with information on habitat aids and the land consolidation that made this path possible. In Waldrach above the cemetery, the topic of "Wine & Religion" is examined in more detail and at Dr. Hammes-Platz the connection between wine & health is discussed.
The route continues in the direction of Kasel back to the village of Kasel. From here the path continues on the lowest vineyard path in the direction of Lorenzhof/Karlsmühle. Information about the waters of the Ruwer and the Roman times can be found on this section. On the last stretch, the trail continues for about 100 m along the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path back to the starting point in Mertesdorf.
